Annual fee

Payable for the first time on the lending date, then on or around every anniversary of the settlement date. We may waive this annual fee if you’re already paying an annual fee on another Loaded home loan held in the same name(s) and capacity.

Rate lock fee

$750

Payable if you elect to lock in your interest rate on a fixed rate loan. We will hold the interest rate for 90 days from the date we process your request. If your loan settles after 90 days, and the fixed rate has increased, the rate that is current on the day of settlement will apply.

Government fees and charges
These fees are calculated at the time of your application and may include land title search fee, mortgage discharge fee, mortgage registration fee.
Depending on how you use your loan, you may have to pay other fees and charges.

What is Virgin Money Rewards?

Virgin Money Rewards is our loyalty program designed with you in mind. Our goal is to recognise and reward you for who you are, and to help you create better money habits. It’s about giving you a rewarding banking experience every day, not just someday.

Is Virgin Money Rewards the same as Velocity?

Virgin Money Rewards is a unique Rewards program for Virgin Money customers with eligible products. We have many different ways to earn points and reward yourself. However, if you love earning Velocity Frequent Flyer points too, you can simply redeem your Virgin Money Rewards points for Velocity points7 (or one of several other travel partners) in the Virgin Money app.

Simply head to Rewards > Redeem > Transfer points to your travel program > Select your preferred travel program.

Please note: You will likely see the points in your linked travel program within 24 hours but could take up to 5 business days.

Is the Offer available for existing Virgin Money or other BOQ Group home loans?

This Offer is not available where any of the total loan amount proceeds are for the refinance, restructure, switches, or top ups of existing home loans from Virgin Money or from other lenders within the Bank of Queensland Ltd (BOQ) Group.

What rate are my Virgin Money Points converted to Velocity Points?

Virgin Money Points are transferred to Velocity Points with a conversion rate of 2 Virgin Money Points to 1 Velocity Point.

Where a Velocity Membership Number is provided and validated, this conversion occurs automatically each calendar month.

Are Virgin Money Points automatically converted to Velocity Points?

If you provide a valid Velocity Membership Number and we are able to validate your Velocity Membership the auto-redemption to Velocity will be enabled and your Virgin Money Points will be converted to Velocity Points on the last calendar day of each month.

You can manage or change your auto‑redemption preferences in the Virgin Money app.

Head to the Virgin Money app:

  • Virgin Money app > Rewards tab > Redeem > Transfer points to your travel program > Velocity Frequent Flyer
  • On the Velocity Frequent Flyer redemption page, scroll to the bottom where your auto-redemption option is shown. You can see the linked Velocity account and update your details if needed.

I am a Velocity Member, but the other borrower is not, will they still earn Bonus Points?

Yes, we award Virgin Money Bonus Points to the other borrower even if they are not a Velocity Member, Settlement Bonus Points and Anniversary Bonus Points are split between Joint Borrowers.

They will be unable to convert their rewards balance to Velocity Points until their Velocity Membership is validated.

What happens if my Velocity Membership details are invalid or incorrect?

If your Velocity Membership Number cannot be validated, you will be asked to update your details in the Virgin Money app.

Virgin Money Points will only be converted to Velocity Points once your valid Velocity Membership is verified.

How many points can I earn at settlement?

Eligible customers may receive 4,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points per full $10,000 of the Total Loan Amount advanced on the Settlement Date.

The award of 4,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points per full $10,000 of the Total Loan Amount advanced can be transferred for 2,000 Velocity Points.

How long does it take for my Virgin Money Bonus Points to be awarded?

  • Settlement and monthly points are generally credited within 5 business days after the relevant criteria are met.
  • Anniversary Bonus Points are credited within 60 business days of the anniversary date.

All points are credited to your Virgin Money Rewards account, if you have auto-redeem to Velocity enabled your rewards balance will be converted to Velocity Points on the last day of the month.

Do I earn points every month?

This Offer is in addition to the ability of each Borrower to earn 2,000 Monthly Bonus Points for holding your Loaded Home Loan as set out in the Rewards Terms (“Ongoing Loaded Monthly Bonus Points Offer”) which can be transferred for 1,000 Velocity Points.

Monthly Bonus Points are separate from Settlement and Anniversary Bonus Points and are subject to ongoing eligibility criteria being met.

How many points can I earn at anniversary?

Eligible customers may receive 4,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points per $10,000 of net loan balance (outstanding loan balance less any offset balance(s)).

The award of 4,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points per full $10,000 of net loan balance can be transferred for 2,000 Velocity Points.

Anniversary points are only awarded following years 1, 2 and 3.

How do you allocate points between Joint Borrowers?

Where there is more than one borrower, Settlement and Anniversary Bonus Points will be split evenly between the borrowers.

If I settle multiple Loaded Home Loans, am I eligible for this offer on each of them?

Yes – Provided each of the home loans meets the eligibility criteria for this offer, then they will qualify for Virgin Money Bonus Points.

What happens if I switch my Loaded Home Loan to a Lite Home Loan?

If you switch your Loaded Home Loan to a Lite Home Loan after you Settle, you will no longer be eligible for Anniversary Bonus Points under this Offer from the date your Loaded Home Loan account is closed.

Will I continue to earn points if I refinance or close my loan?

No. If your Loaded Home Loan is closed, refinanced externally, or otherwise ceases to be eligible, you will no longer earn points under this Offer.

If I open a Go offset transaction account with my Loaded Home Loan, am I eligible for points on that account?

Yes, you can earn Virgin Money Points on the Go account, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

What happens if I already have auto‑redemption set to Points to Cash?

If you already have auto‑redemption to Points to Cash enabled, it will be updated to auto‑redemption to Velocity Points once your Velocity Membership Number is validated.

Does auto‑redemption apply to my existing Points balance?

Yes. Auto-redemption to Velocity Points applies to your entire Virgin Money Points balance, including any Points earned prior to this offer.

Can I opt out of auto‑redemption to Velocity Points?

Yes, you can opt out of auto‑redemption to Velocity Points. Any changes to your redemption preference must be made before the applicable Auto‑Redemption Date (the last calendar day of the month).

What happens once my Virgin Money Points are transferred to Velocity?

Once your Velocity Points are credited to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account, they are subject to the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions. You should generally see the Points in your Velocity account within 5 business days of the transfer.
